Reading Media Data at Runtime

If you want to use Media Connection at runtime, you will need to:

  1. Select either the From Database or the From Properties option on the Media Connection tool palette. See below for additional information.

  • If you want to let your users swap sources, you must also provide a Change Source button from the TB Connection Catalog. When the user changes sources, your book is populated with selected media from the new source.

    Runtime Read Options:

     

    The From Database setting indicates you want media information read from the source database(s). If you select this option, the TBC_readMedia book property is set to database. With this setting, you must include your source database(s) and the .tcn file with your installation.

     

    The From Properties setting indicates you want media information read from book properties. If you select this option, the TBC_readMedia book property is set to properties. When using this option, you must use the Create Properties tool after you have generated and edited your final database(s). If you have more than one source you must include the .tcn file with your installation.
